Giving Thanks and Giving Back
Veterans’ Day and Thanksgiving both remind us to reflect on how much we have to be grateful for and to not take our extraordinary good luck to be born in this place and time for granted. We have the freedom we have because of the hard work and sacrifice of those who came before us, and this month, we formally say thank you.
The Marlborough Junior Woman’s Club said thank you to our veterans with our Date Night fundraiser at Speaker’s Night Club earlier this month, raising $500 for the homeless veterans of Veterans Inc. We cooked and served Thanksgiving meals to 80 men and women who have fallen on hard times at Our Father’s Table last night in Marlborough, and brought the bountiful leftovers to the grateful folks at the homeless shelter Roland’s House. Our Warm for the Holidays Linen Drive to collect blankets, sheets and towels for needy families continues. The Marlborough Junior Woman’s Club believes in Giving Thanks and Giving Back.
