First Day Hike at Walden Pond

New Years Day 1847

Friday, January 1st 12:00 PM – 2:00 PM

Start the New Year off by joining Henry David Thoreau portrayed by historian Richard Smith on Friday, January 1, 2010 at Walden Pond. From 12:00 noon to 2:00 p.m. Thoreau will be entertaining visitors at his cabin.

 

From 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm join DCR staff for a First Day Hike to the Thoreau house site, (1 mile round trip). After the hike join park staff for hot chocolate at park headquarters. Be sure to dress appropriately for winter weather. Please meet at the Thoreau house replica.

 

For more information call (978) 369-3254. Parking fees will be waived on January 1, 2010. Pre-registration is not required. No dogs allowed.
